The OSU New Product Development Center for small manufacturers is committed to strengthening Oklahoma's economy through job creation. The NPDC partners these manufacturers with university-based research teams to develop and commercialize the manufacturer’s new product concepts.
Ideas may include developing new products, updating a current product to lead the market, integrating new technology or broadening market shares with new product features. By working with the NPDC, manufacturers not only develop new products, but also create new and enhanced jobs, increase capital investment and strengthen their communities. Furthermore, these manufacturers gain valuable experience that can be applied to their next new venture.
In the four years since the state of Oklahoma invested in this program, the NPDC has proven that new product development assistance can have a significant impact on the state and its manufacturers. The NPDC provides a valuable opportunity for existing manufacturers to develop and commercialize their new product ideas.
Since its inception in 2002, the NPDC has created the potential for more than 250 new jobs and several million dollars in new revenues for Oklahoma manufacturers. Every NPDC project is an investment in the future of Oklahoma.
